Hurand Sculpture Courtyard

The Hurand Sculpture Courtyard is an open courtyard within the Building of the Flint Institute of Arts, somewhat between the museum and the art school sections of the facility. This completely renovated space is surrounded by solid walls on three sides and by a window wall on the fourth side, making it easy for visitors to view this exterior space from inside the museum. The space is open to the sky above, and is a contemplative setting in which visitors can view selections of sculpture from the collection of the FIA. The Hurand Sculpture Courtyard is the FIA's only outdoor gallery, perfectly suited for larger scale works intended for such an environment.
